DENVER, Colo. – Denver Springs, a leading provider of behavioral health services in the Denver area, is pleased to announce its newest outpatient center, Changes, will soon open to provide mental health services to the community.  The new state-of-the-art facility, located at 16830 Northgate Drive in Parker, will provide partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for adolescents aged 12 to 17.

“According to the CDC, Colorado’s teenage suicide rate is nearly twice the national average,” said Denver Springs Chief Executive Officer, Bill Snyder. “We knew that we could do more to help prevent this epidemic from needlessly taking so many of our children’s lives.  Our compassionate team at Changes will provide intensive therapy for kids that are most at risk.”

According to the CDC, out of every 100,000 teenagers in the United States, nearly nine will die by suicide.  The same data shows the rate in Colorado is almost twice that amount, approximately 17.6 teens per every 100,000.

To help address this crisis, the model of care at Changes, Denver Springs focuses on:

  • Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs
  • Individualized treatment and aftercare plans
  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
  • Medication management and monitoring
  • Group therapy and education
  • Family support and education
  • Integration of academics in daytime programming
  • Collaboration and discharge planning with area schools and providers

The new facility will treat adolescents with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other common mental health conditions.  Snyder notes that while Changes will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., assessments and telephone triage are available round-the-clock, 365 days per year. “Parents can call us for an assessment and for more information, and we’d welcome the opportunity to discuss treatment options based on individual needs.”

The newly constructed facility will be open to the media and community members for an open house on August 28, 2019, from 5-7 p.m.  Its secure, peaceful accommodations feature comfortable therapy rooms, warm and welcoming interior spaces, an outdoor recreation area, a modern lunchroom, classrooms and meeting spaces. The innovative space is designed to promote safety and healing for our patients and their families.

Said Snyder, “We are fully staffed and licensed to care for adolescents with a wide range of diagnoses. We exist to fill a gap, for intensive outpatient behavioral care and services. We are focused on quality and safety within a very respectful environment.”
